JUNE 29, 2023, NEW IBERIA, LA…The Port of Iberia is expanding again.  Growth continues as the Port is acquiring a 117.36-acre tract which is adjacent to the existing Port facility.  This newly acquired land will become a key component of the existing greater Port property which operates currently with 2,000 +/- acres of waterfront industrial and manufacturing sites housing over 50 companies that employ hundreds of Acadiana residents.   This transaction shows the Port’s ongoing commitment to continued reinvestment into new Port assets and Port infrastructure to support economic growth of the region.

The site is being acquired from Mosing Ventures, LLC. This marquis transaction is on the heels of the Port attracting major Louisiana industrial employer Turner Industries to the Port roster in 2021 at a similarly sized 100 +/- acre tract and the recent work underway for the state funded $96M deepening of the Acadiana Gulf of Mexico Access Channel (AGMAC).  This deepening effort will provide a 50 mile long 16-foot channel from the Gulf of Mexico to the inland port property.

Today’s transaction is funded in partnership with the Port of Iberia District and State of Louisiana funds through the Port Priority Program. Port Director, Craig Romero, is excited about the momentum the Port is experiencing and the direction the Port is headed.  With continued plans for growth, the Port of Iberia District positions itself to provide ongoing support to area businesses and maintain and progress efforts to attract new out of area businesses to the region.
