Located near the Louisiana coast in Iberia Parish, the Port of Iberia is a 2,000 acre industrial and manufacturing site surrounding a man-made port complex. The port has access to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico through its own Commercial Canal and has access to the Mississippi River through major ports in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Today the Port of Iberia has expanded its waterfront property and has completed new bulkheading and dredging projects. The possibilities are unlimited when you add to this the existing industrial facilities, the constant flow of raw materials, and the multi-million dollar public dock facility. The Acadiana region of Louisiana, home of the Port of Iberia, stretches from the rich, coastal marsh of the Gulf to the rolling, inland farmland and forest. The diversity of the region is characterized by oil, natural gas, sulfur, salt, and seafood. Acadiana is the home of the Cajun culture, sugarcane, crawfish, rice and Tabasco®. Here, too, is the Atchafalaya River basin, the largest remaining wild swamp in the United States and a paradise for the sportsmen and birdwatchers alike.
